As a boy, Norman Vincent Peale booklets were all over my church. My grandmother also read his stuff so I did too. It was always on the back of the toilet along with “Scripts people live” and “Games people play” which I always read sitting there – transactional psychology. I liked peale. Modern version of it would be Oprah Winfrey’s “The Universe is always looking out for you” type of thing. A lot of it falls into the family that came from “How to Win Friends and Influence People ” (Dale Carnegie) and others from the Zig Ziglar motivational speaking sector
