back around 1996, I was visiting a monk who was living in an apartment by a church a few counties away. I was friends with him online, figured he’d make a good spiritual father. Hung out with him for a weekend. Nice guy.
Anyway, he had one condition: Smoking. I had to stop or he wouldn’t be my spiritual father.
He was nice and bought me nicotine gum.
Well, I tried it and tried it. Made me want to throw up each time. Rumbly belly, just couldn’t manage it. Smaller amounts didn’t help.
Years later, tried a patch. Those I could cut in 1/2 and they were ok. (the clear ones).
I finally had my answer when I did vaping a year or two ago: the milligrams.
I could handle 16-18 milligrams perfectly. But when it hit 20 or 22 or 24 mg, I wanted to throw up. So, I have a sharp tolerance level.
I have an iron stomach yet excessive nicotine makes it rumble. Surprises me honestly: I can handle blood, vomit, poop, any kind of awful smell, eat nearly any food .. with a category of exception – and yet, if those mg are just a little too high, my belly says “no tnx”
It does, it does. The only things I can’t eat (I tried) are things on the level of tripe. Organ meat. I can’t do organ meat. But prepared correctly, I can eat most other things.
Liver’s an exception. Prepared with onion soup mix and lots of onions, I don’t mind it. I make a good liver, even though it’s not something I have more than once every year or so
