Another one of those timed coincidence things: Yesterday I spent time collecting all of the Udut and Udit and Udet I could find on FamilySearch and then transferring to geni that are post 1875 and connecting them all together. There’s a possibility that Udod is connected but no proof outside of a reference to a bird called a Hoopoe whose name in Ukrainian strongly resembles Udut and in a reference I found talking about last names from a county in Munkacs (foot of the Carpathians) – could be Catholic, Jewish, Orthodox, who knows. Ukrainian, Hungarian, Slovak, Austria, Czech – it’s such in the intersection of various lands that it could be any of them depending on what year it is.
