An example is how humans ‘chunk’ naturally. 1 is worth much more than 2, 2 much more than 3, 3 much more than 4 and beyond 4, there’s no point really. But then at some point, there’s a chunking where the units are larger in some sense but counted the same with. Such is log but that it is so fundamental to how we operate despite being taught to see numbers as equally spaced, evenly sized, etc, that I’ve been wrapping my brain around how it might be possible to create a natural number system that follows our natural cognition and back-translate what we’ve already done in mathematics and physics into it.

Ah, for that knowing medium and communication format may work. If you put everything in terms of communication and communication delay you may be able to accomplish that, although I suspect different scales may be required for the very fast and the very slow of course.
Perhaps it might be possible to remove all instances of “is-ness” and “was-ness” and “be-ness”, allowing a world where it might not be as important to verbalize truth versus fiction as all is hypothetical, perhaps, woulds oughts, coulds.
I’ve entertained the idea that it’s possible that we are in a goldilocks zone of physics whereby things just happen to follow patterns we’re capable of discerning and that there was a prior and may perhaps be a beyond whereby these ‘rules’ don’t necessarily hold.
