Always beware what you read. Sometimes the smarter you are, the harder you fall.
This spoof article (poking fun of similar articles that demonize eggs, bacon, margarine, butter, cheese, Tylenol, beef, marijuana, cigarettes, beer, water, driving, flying, Facebook, video games… etc) – is showing how a certain format of ”news article”, backed by VERY SELECTIVE scientific journal published literature, can be used to prove ANYTHING and get people to believe anything.
Caveat Emptor. Except: Let the reader beware. If you see this form of writing, they might be telling you the truth, and they might not. But, lesson to take away: They’re trying to convince you of something. Ultimately, these are sales pitches, disguised as ”Information YOU NEED TO KNOW”.
