Allowing behavior to occur in its natural habitat is often an experiment.
Usually it’s the kind I prefer. You observe and record. It’s an environmental science / ecological science.
In this case though, I’m not sure it’s wise. If there was a vaccine available, having Sweden be the Control and other countries have different parameters might work.
But without a vaccine, following protocols is logical. I see it as traffic control, not liberty-remover.

I’m speaking from my bias and my concern that Americans are and will continue to attempt to follow what they believe Sweden is doing and that they will advocate for it at various power levels in society is why I’m speaking up with this opinion rather than being stand-offish about it.

I’ll rain on it. SWEDEN YOU’RE WRONG.
Otherwise I agree with you 100%. Normally I’d be all for a control group but this stuff’s nasty.

They face “restrictions to their liberties” too. Just differently. Not much different from what places in the US were doing a few weeks ago.
—
My problem is that many otherwise very intelligent Americans believe that Sweden is going around as if everything’s normal and that we should too. But they’re not, and neither should we.
