All you’re doing is saying: Yes, white privilege is real. I didn’t do these things nor did you, so I don’t understand what the pride part comes in.

You can kick back and do nothing because people that are PROBABLY NOT in your actual family tree, just far off distant cousins _maybe_ (or maybe not as you’re measuring with.. skin tone?) – did stuff.
Pretty thin.

Ever notice all the math stuff starts with “al-”
Did you ever notice that middle eastern names start with “al-“?
Amazing. They don’t think of themselves as white at all.

It was a year ago today that I finally came to terms with =

Once I spontaneously imagined it in terms of hydraulics (pipes), it ‘clicked’.
 That’s because fundamentalists, not unlike yourself, took over. The golden age of the Islamic countries was PRE fundamentalism and was instead a pluralist society, much like the one you want to get rid of here.
  Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi
is where all the “al-” math came from. algorithm? His. algebra? His. One guy. 9th Century.
Fundamentalism in the middle east finally conquered this stuff by 1453 with the fall of Constantinople and they established what they thought of as the 3rd Roman Empire.Russia thought they were too. But that’s another story. Oh, so did Napolean.Oh and another guy.
 back to basics”. Fundamentals. Shrinking instead of expanding. Fundamentalist. It’s a mindset of hoarding.

  You’re describing Western Civilization. It’s what we learn in school. It’s our indoctrination. BBC was a big pusher of this, particularly the dark/middle ages myth which they since backed away from but it was big in the 1960s BBC educational materials.
====
myth of progress. current day big pusher of that myth is Stephen Pinker.

 myth of progress is at the core of neoliberalism.
You’re a standard neoliberal. Nothing wrong with that. But standard.
====
Standard historical narratives are all white.

I think I’m coming to… terms with you.

It really is just a pipe that’s stabilizing pressures between two inequalities within a closed system.

 American textbooks are boring. “Yay, white people are awesome – slaves were happy under their masters.My nephew’s 8th grade history had the whole myth of the “Genteel south” with the happy slaves stuff- just last year.So, I don’t know what right-wing redtube myth you’re spouting but reality is, you’re safe so long as the US public school system continues pushing white=great narratives, with the occasional page or two about black and women, neoliberal pablum.
===
 Hold on, is this the meme of “maybe getting rid of slavery was a mistake”, “maybe given women the vote was a mistake” stuff?
===
The increase in child/spousal abuse is a reality. Marriages that should never have been in the first place.

Where I am, there was a 30% increase in abuse calls. Funny/interesting thing about here in the sticks is it’s 50%/50% men/women. That is, as many women abuse men as men abuse women.

But it’s not the lockdown that’s the cause. It’s a failing relationship that’s the cause that would show up on weekends and in outings anyway in smaller, non-reported doses.

Maybe they’ll get the help they need now.
 London’s not a village though – it’s a melting pot, cosmopolitan. Your ancestors had to come from somewhere other than London, unless Dulwich was once separate.
If you’re talking family purity stuff, it’s villages where you find the most of that.

I got what I wanted though. I wanted to find a famous person from one of your ancestral homes to see if we’re possibly related.

I found Edward Alleyn who was from Bishopsgate but did big things in Dulwich and I think his wife from from Dulwich who I’m related to.

But her father’s father is from Wales, so, I dunno. It’s all mixed.

You want to credit this amophic thing you call “white people”.

But what I see is family trees.
