All this potential for ‘loud’, sitting behind it, yet all was quiet. Loved it.

Well, I know that there’s an hum of around Bb that surrounds us in parts of the world with 60hz electricity; we barely even notice the sound of motors humming along most of the time, or the sound of electrical lines over head or underground.

Not sure about the Universe; although perhaps some testing equipment that _doesn’t_ run at 60Hz that’s out in space _might_ effectively detect it… but the noise is so pervasive that simply being measured or processed by _equipment_ that’s here on Earth will have the potential to be suceptable to that influence, even if it’s filtered out. [how do you know if you’re filtered out enough to account for Florescent light balast noise and such, etc).

I love the low notes on pipe organs; and I’m somewhat envious that you had that as a task at one time of your life.

The organ at my church growing up had been converted to electric in the 60s, and when I was a custodian as a teenager there, I used to wander around, and I loved walking behind the parts few else see, going through cubbyholes to where all the gigantic racks of gigantic speakers with massive magnets were at.

Very peaceful spot. All this potential for ‘loud’, sitting behind it, yet all was quiet. Loved it.
