All reason is driven by our emotional systems, and certainty is but an emotion like any other.

I tend somewhat towards the line of Buddhist thought, although I tend a little more towards the neuroscience aspect that belief can’t be let go of as it’s part of our cognitive systems and that the dichotomy between belief and reason is false.

So, I can’t quite throw the baby out with the bathwater. Reality is real. There’s really a “me” here. Proper comprehension of my own belief structures allows me to understand myself, my place in the world, and my relationship with others.
