AI LLM, oh yes. I like playing with words in an amateur way and looking for connections. Obsessed with WordNet for years, in love when I discovered Latent Dirichlet allocation and how it can be used to categorize concepts in little word bags…
..and then on Dec 2, 2022, this “ChatGPT” thing was open for experimentation. I jumped in 100% expecting it to be shut down in a week and spent as much time as I could with it.
But it kept working. I stayed nose in it ’til around August 2023 when I finally realized I got the majority of intense work I wanted out of it. Sliced and diced ideas in many ways – mostly trying to get a sense of “how it categorized concepts” because I could see it was going to be foundational for the future and I wanted to get a sense of “how it thought” (or rather, how it packaged concepts in concepts).
My poor Facebook feed had 10-20 of my experiments every day vomited all over it from Dec 2, 2022 – August 2023 but people were supportive.
I also made 3 or 4 ‘books’ (on Amazon for fun) using LLMs as a helper. I don’t expect or care about sales – just to see if I could do it. A speed game.

and modular synth? Yeah, I had access to an ARP/Moog at college which was fun, did various experiments on the computer. Never was able to master the piano roll style of MIDI sequencing done on computers oddly but I found other ways.
Last physical synth stuff I did at the moment was my old Korg MS-2000 which is collecting dust now for like 15 years on my floor sitting on its side, but in 2005 I had cassettes hooked up and a cheap keyboard hooked in too and went to town one night and made a few hours of stuff on cassette I still listen to sometimes.
