Ah! This fits in with one of my dreams : a specially trained set of General Practitioners scattered across the country by population, covering the nation like a net and allowing everybody access to healthcare.
My thinking went a step further and has their payments incorporated (partially or in whole) by communities, counties, state and federal but the same principal applies: basic care for basic needs, easily available.
The doctors in both my idea and this one wouldn’t get paid as much per year so they’d have to be personally motivated for such a service. But with corresponding medical schools that could allow more doctors to be trained less expensively, this could work.
