It depends on exposure really. I hardly have much contact with evangelicals but I’ve had PLENTY of contact with shiny new atheists who just discovered a new thing and want to tell everybody.

Convertitis is understandable but then it drags on too long and becomes dog whistles for likes rather than anything useful.

 

I’ve toyed with and without religious stuff. Consider myself agnostic for a while but never could go atheist for the whole “making .001 = 0″ thing. I like the gaps.
 
I did find a philosopher who reached similar conclusions to me but came at it from the New Atheist direction, whereas I came at it from a religious-questing direction:
