ACTUALLY… my mom got hit with Cryptolocker2 Ransomware back in 2013/4 which we traced back to her clicking on a UPS TRACKING NUMBER in her e-mail. That was a pain in the butt to remove; never fully got rid of it. Almost would’ve been worth paying the Ransom. Thankfully she was old school and backed things up to flash already. But that poor computer limped along barely working. When she replaced it? Chromebook. She didn’t want to deal with that ransomware again and to this day, she will never click any links in any emails left or right.
