About to look at it now. I recognize the name; my normal research way is to see ‘what do i already know?’ because that invariably influences (consciously or unconsciously because I might forget that I know or believe something) – how I will process incoming stimuli. So my mentioned of Andy Clark I have is: A list of philosophers-influencing-philosophers I gained by torturously going through Wikipedia’s influences/influenced-by metrics (I maybe have used dbPedia? Not sure) – and Andy Clark shows up once: a) Daniel_Dennett influenced Andy_Clark b) “Practopoesis: A term coined by the philosopher Andy Clark, which refers to the idea that cognitive processes are not just about representing the world, but also about acting on it and shaping it in useful ways.” (me now) For me Practopoesis came from Danko Nikolic’s ideas – he makes very heavy use of the term but Andy Clark seems to have coined the word for the concept. c) a number of people I’m friend with on FB have made mention of Andy Clark through the years so I’m certainly in his realm somewhere and I recognize his face, so I’m sure I’ve seen him. So that’s my known exposure. Now I’ll watch.

About to look at it now. I recognize the name; my normal research way is to see ‘what do i already know?’ because that invariably influences (consciously or unconsciously because I might forget that I know or believe something) – how I will process incoming stimuli.

So my mentioned of Andy Clark I have is:

A list of philosophers-influencing-philosophers I gained by torturously going through Wikipedia’s influences/influenced-by metrics (I maybe have used dbPedia? Not sure) – and Andy Clark shows up once:

a) Daniel_Dennett influenced Andy_Clark

b) “Practopoesis: A term coined by the philosopher Andy Clark, which refers to the idea that cognitive processes are not just about representing the world, but also about acting on it and shaping it in useful ways.”

(me now) For me Practopoesis came from Danko Nikolic’s ideas – he makes very heavy use of the term but Andy Clark seems to have coined the word for the concept.

c) a number of people I’m friend with on FB have made mention of Andy Clark through the years so I’m certainly in his realm somewhere and I recognize his face, so I’m sure I’ve seen him.

So that’s my known exposure. Now I’ll watch.
