A thought on transhumanism: Here’s something I was thinking about the other day: In a strong sense, modern medicine is transhumanism. Medicines can alter chemical functioning in the body, enhancing or inhibiting functions as desired. Implants can bring youth-like performance to bad knees and hips. Amputees can function in often superior ways with high quality artificial arms or legs. And, to get only slightly more abstract, what you and I are doing right now on the internet is _almost_ instant brain-to-brain communication. And: look at Google. You start typing in a question and because so many humans have similar thoughts, questions and ideas, it can KNOW what we are thinking and complete our sentences accurately. This gives us access to a vastly extended brain that we can think with.
