A sense of shame is a rare trait in Western business and politics. The closest equivalent to that is when they step down out of their position of power due to controversy and disappear for a while. It is the closest we get I think.

Indeed. There are non-profit entities for ethics and morals. Capitalism, well, they already declare their priorities by their activities.

if I could change the metrics for the business market, it would not be growth potential (which is cancer when unchecked, literally) but rather stability over time.

I would rather a people first society rather than things. So much of what we do is absolutely absurd.

I have my ideas. But what I mean is if the people in a society were aware of a prioritized existence, it would change.
