I think a lot of this attitude comes from the VERY heavy pushback from center-right and right wing attitudes, particularly online and in the gaming and meme communities.
Lack of trusting the Millennial, GenX and Boomers to organize anything substantial.
So, they often just throw their hands up and wait for nature to take its course.
