Not at all. Here’s how:
a) Certain professions require a certain level of prerequisite intelligence. Thus, likely that a number of people you work with will be slightly higher than 100.
b) If their kids are also higher intelligence, it shouldn’t be surprising.
Another way to look at at:
a) People lie about their kids.
b) 130+ is a safe range of “smarter than 100 but not quite Mensa”. Safe.
I’ve had jobs as Systems analyst and systems engineering.
Went through the average IQs for the professions once (don’t ask which one – don’t remember) and 130-135ish was right in the proper range for those professions.
