a) own a goat for 7 years and b) have it eaten by a panther. Learned a lot living in the “swampland”

Naples, Florida. I was a bit surprised myself. I figured Bobcat but panther? He even figured out that the panther came three times into the cage and gave a long-winded explanation how he knew that, showing me proof and such. Strangest part is, I was sitting on the screen porch when it happened, about 50 feet away and heard nothing. Fred was complaining as usual about nothing, banging his head against the cage, and then he was quiet. I sat there and continued doing my work and never heard a thing.

It was only when I went to feed him later that I saw a mess. I was a bit surprised to say the least.

First 30 years in a suburb of NJ, and a brief stint at Hampshire College in Amherst… and in none of those places would I have expected to a) own a goat for 7 years and b) have it eaten by a panther. Learned a lot living in the “swampland” tongue emoticon
