A lot of people believe that if somebody is wealthy, they must deserve it somehow and that if someone is not wealthy, they must have done something to cause themselves to not be wealthy.
It’s a hard notion to shake and I don’t even know where it comes from. Shades of “the Universe wants you to be wealthy” stuff maybe? I don’t know. It’s a Pagan belief from ancient Greece, but it’s right here in America too.
