A big black guy in the city or suburbs? sure. An unattached man without a family, even a dog, in the woods for no purpose. Not hunting. Not hiking. Just “a guy wandering around the woods” vs a bear. Most bears will leave you alone or run away – black bears (non-alaska) anyway. Grizzly’s different. But there’s 10x black bears than grizzly’s in the usa and very few polar bears. So it’s presumably a black bear from the continuous usa in the woods vs an unattached free man in the woods with no obligations or ties to society that we know of. Just ‘there’ in the woods.
