400ms for the grammatical systems to ‘kick in’ for a coherent sentence to form in the mind that you can hear to yourself but you’re aware prior to that moment. That’s just under 1/2 a second which is kind of slow. I think they feed back and forth into each other to where cause/effect sequence can be a little tricky, particularly when things like mood can modify the entire usable range of possible thoughts before you even have them and physical movements as well (try jumping for joy when feeling sad)…
