3/4th of those memes are made by alt right because they want to stay relevant.
older gen blames young, younger gen blames old.
Here I am, 2nd wave GenX who figures all this collective generational fingerpointing is part of our ethos – a trait of Western civ since Greece.
Also, I love being the “skipped over” generation. Y’all are nuts, uppers and lowers, just don’t realize it like my Gen sorta does.
Trained to see everything as BS from a young age, X’s and Z’s (post 99) seem to sorta have that in common. Boom + Mills fell into idealism and culty things.
it might. I tried watching it but couldn’t get through it but I also never felt ‘in step with my generation either… which is also a common GenX trait oddly.
I didn’t like a lot of GenX stuff. I kind of HAD to listen to a lot of it because it was everywhere so I know all the lyrics to a bunch of songs I don’t want to know.
memes have picked up on a lot of the 80s trash which is kind of fun. Seeing bad examples of 80s culture being either idolized or mocked by GenZ is fantastic and I’m glad for the 8-bit idolization.
