2nd grade teacher in Roselle Park is what broke my respect for adults. She sat me in the back right hand corner – I still remember – when me and my mother both said that I should be in the front left side because of my vision and hearing. In that dreadful back right corner for 1.5 quarters before finally she put me in the right spot and my grades shot right back up again. Couldn’t hear anything much, couldn’t see the board… it was miserable. That’s when I knew not all people entrusted to kids had the kids in mind. It was a good lesson but it shouldn’t have been necessary.
