w has been in an ongoing meme debate at school between “traps are gay” and “traps are not gay”. He dragged me into it with his declaration, “I’m going to call them INTERSEX!” I had to step in.
He already knew the difference between trans female and “trap”, and between “trap” and transvestite but we still had a debate as I wanted him to know intersex is ALREADY a word and what it means and if he’s going to create something new, can’t reuse.
In the end he concluded that “traps” are trolls who are are sexually male binary gender minded transvestite, which is different from only occasionally wearing clothing that’s usually for women, for the purpose of confusing straight men, which is completely different from trans women who haven’t been fully transitioned yet, unless they behave “like a trap” which they probably won’t because they’re not trolls but have gender dysphoria, which is different from…
No I think that’s all of it.
The difference is whether “I’m a man who dresses in women’s clothing to attract straight men” or “I’m a pre-op trans female attracted to men”.
If there’s an aspect of trolling involved, it’s a trap.
[hate “teachable moment” as a concept but I do it, so I fess up]
